II. How We Use Collected Information

The information we collect is used for the following purposes:

  1. Core Function Services: To provide you with media playback, subtitle display, favorites management, and other core functions
  2. Service Optimization: To analyze app usage and improve product features and user experience
  3. License Verification: To verify activation code validity, manage licensed device count, prevent piracy and abnormal usage
  4. Advertising Services: To display splash ads and rewarded video ads for non-Pro users; you can upgrade to Pro or watch rewarded videos to gain Pro experience
  5. Online Translation & AI Features: When you actively use online translation, AI analysis, and other features, relevant subtitle text or query content may be sent to third-party AI service providers for processing to generate translation or analysis results. Data sent to AI is not uploaded to our servers. Third-party service providers may include OpenAI, Google, DeepSeek, etc. The specific list of supported AI service providers varies by region; please refer to the in-app display for the authoritative list. Relevant data processing is subject to the privacy policies and terms of service of the respective providers. Your media files, audio files, video files, and local subtitle content are not uploaded to our servers.

III. How We Share, Transfer, and Publicly Disclose Personal Information

3.1 Sharing

We do not share your personal information with other companies, organizations, or individuals, except in the following circumstances:

  1. Legal Requirements: In accordance with laws and regulations, for dispute resolution, or upon request by administrative or judicial authorities.
  2. Advertising Service Sharing: To implement ad delivery and performance statistics, we share necessary device information through integrated third-party ad SDKs (Pangle, GDT) (see Section 3.4 for the third-party SDK information sharing list). You can stop this sharing by upgrading to Pro or disabling ad tracking permissions.

IV. How We Store and Protect Personal Information

4.1 Information Storage

4.1.1 Storage Location

Your personal information is primarily stored within the People's Republic of China. When you use online translation, AI analysis, and other features, relevant subtitle text or query content is transmitted through encrypted channels to third-party service providers for processing, and the processing does not pass through our servers.

4.1.2 Data Transmission

When you use online translation, AI analysis, and other features, your subtitle text or query content will be transmitted to third-party service providers. If you choose overseas service providers, we take the following measures to ensure cross-border transmission security:

  1. Encrypted Transmission: All data transmission uses SSL/TLS encryption protocols
  2. Minimized Transmission: Only the minimum necessary text content you actively request to process is transmitted; media files, audio files, or video files are not transmitted
  3. Service Provider Compliance: Selected AI service providers comply with privacy protection regulations in their respective regions
  4. User Consent: Your active use of online translation, AI analysis, and other features constitutes your consent to cross-border transmission of relevant data

If you do not agree to cross-border data transmission, you can choose not to use overseas online translation or AI analysis service providers and use domestic service providers instead. The app's local playback, subtitle display, and other core functions are not affected.

4.3 Security Protection Measures

  2. Access Control: Strictly limiting personal information access permissions, only authorizing necessary personnel to access
  3. Security Audit: Establishing security audit mechanisms, conducting regular security assessments and vulnerability scans
  4. Folder Encryption: You can use the folder password function to encrypt and protect local media files

4.4 Security Incident Handling

In the unfortunate event of a personal information security incident, we will follow the following process for emergency response:

    • General security incident: involving leakage of a small amount of non-sensitive user information
    • Major security incident: involving leakage of a large amount of user information or sensitive information
  2. Response Process:
    • Immediately activate emergency response mechanisms upon discovering a security incident
    • Assess the scope and severity of the incident
    • Take technical measures to contain the incident's expansion
    • Fix security vulnerabilities
  3. User Notification:
    • Major security incidents: We will notify affected users within 72 hours of confirming the incident through in-app notifications or email
    • Notification content includes: basic situation of the security incident, measures we have taken or will take, suggestions for self-protection and risk reduction
  4. Post-Incident Improvement: Review security incidents, improve security measures, and prevent similar incidents from recurring

V. Your Rights

Under the Personal Information Protection Law of the People's Republic of China, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other relevant laws and regulations, you have the following rights:

5.1 Right of Access

You have the right to access your personal information and understand the scope and manner of our processing. You can view your favorites, playback history, and other information through in-app features.

5.2 Right to Rectification

When you find errors in your personal information we process, you have the right to request correction. You can correct it yourself through in-app features or request correction via our contact email.

5.3 Right to Erasure

You can delete your personal information through the following methods:

5.4 Right to Withdraw Consent

You can withdraw your authorized consent by disabling device permissions or turning off specific features. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the legality of processing activities based on prior consent. After withdrawing consent, we will stop processing activities based on that consent, but this does not affect the normal use of core local features.

5.5 Right to Data Portability

Where technically feasible, you have the right to transfer your personal information to a third party you designate. You can export favorites data through the app's export function.

We will respond to your rights requests within 15 business days. In complex cases, this may be extended to 30 business days, and we will inform you of the reason for the extension.


VI. Protection of Minors

We attach great importance to the protection of minors' personal information. In accordance with the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Minors, the Provisions on the Cyberprotection of Children's Personal Information, and other laws and regulations, we protect minors' personal information according to the following rules:

6.1 Protection of Children Under 14

  1. If you are a child under 14, please use iSub Player under the accompaniment and guidance of your guardian, and only provide personal information with your guardian's explicit consent.
  2. We do not actively collect unnecessary personal information of children under 14. If collection is necessary, we will obtain the guardian's explicit consent and follow the "minimum necessary" principle.
  3. Guardians have the right to exercise the various rights specified in Article V of this Policy on behalf of the child, including accessing, correcting, and deleting the child's personal information.
  4. If we discover that we have collected personal information of children under 14 without obtaining guardian consent, we will delete the relevant information as soon as possible.
  5. We do not use personal information of children under 14 for targeted push or commercial advertising.

6.2 Protection of Minors Between 14 and 18

  1. If you are a minor between 14 and 18, you should use iSub Player under your guardian's guidance and provide personal information with your guardian's consent.
  2. We limit the scope of processing personal information of minors between 14 and 18, only processing information necessary for providing services.
  3. Guardians have the right to understand the usage of iSub Player by minors between 14 and 18 and exercise relevant rights on their behalf.

VII. Updates to This Policy

  1. We may revise this Policy from time to time. When policy terms change, we will notify you through the following methods:
    • In-app popup notifications
    • In-app message push
  2. For major changes (such as expanding the scope of personal information collection, adding third-party SDK sharing, etc.), we will again seek your consent through in-app popups.
  3. If you continue to use iSub Player after the Policy is revised, it means you agree to be bound by the revised Policy.
  4. If you do not agree with the revised Policy, you have the right to stop using iSub Player and delete your personal information.
